CASTEL GANDOLFO, Italy – As reminders of God and the notion of Christian values gradually disappear from public life in even traditionally Catholic countries, people must respond by strengthening their prayer life and increasing their acts of charity, Pope Benedict XVI said.

I read with interest the article (CR, Sept. 11) on the new Internet TV site, realcatholictv.com and clicked on the site with equal interest. Imagine my disappointment when I discovered it to be more of the ‘same old, same old.’

Where can we go to get the clear Catholic Church’s teachings and stay properly informed?

I found it disturbing that the only reference (CR, Sept. 4) to Nancy Pelosi’s erroneous and scandalous comments on when life begins was found in a letter to the editor rather than as an article the week before when several archbishops chided her and corrected her erroneous statements. It appears that the democrat is being protected by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, much the same way the illegal aliens are being protected by the church even though they are clearly breaking the law.

Even though scholars believe St. Paul wrote 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament, many Catholics don’t know much about the famous Christian preacher.
