Chancery

Purpose: The Chancellor serves as a canonical consultant to the Archbishop and others on the archdiocesan staff; assists the Moderator of the Curia in the coordination of the pastoral activities of the curia and fulfills other duties as assigned by the Archbishop. The Chancellor oversees the development of all archdiocesan policies, proper appointment of corporators and other legal matters. The office of the Chancellor (or “Chancery”) is concerned with the official documents, including the archives, of the Archdiocese, especially of the Archbishop. The Chancellor is the principal canonical notary of the Archdiocese, and the ordinary canonical notary for the official documents issued by the Archbishop.
