New principal appointed to Seton Keough

Dennis Meehan, a 22-year principal of Bishop Ludden High School in Syracuse, N.Y., has been appointed by Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien as principal of The Seton Keough High School, Baltimore, effective in July. Mr. Meehan, who was chosen by a five-member search committee of experienced educators in the Baltimore area, succeeds Dr. B. Curtis Turner, who will serve as the new principal of St. Frances Academy, Baltimore, after a seven-year tenure at Seton Keough.

Some advice for a happy marriage

Over the years, I have literally spent thousands of dollars on courses, classes and books in an effort to be of most help to couples in their marriages. So, naturally, one of the most helpful things I ever found was not in any of those courses, classes or books. It was something I found at a flea market! Tell me God doesn’t have a sense of humor.

What is God Whispering?

Although I have visited all our parishes – however briefly in most cases – and a couple of dozen elementary schools to date, I’ve managed so far only a handful of high schools. In celebrating Mass for the students at Mount St. Joseph, Archbishop Curley and Calvert Hall, I have come to realize that the Archdiocese is rich in Catholic high schools, each of which is rich in tradition.

Brother Earl Vincent Kent, S.S.J.

A funeral Mass for Brother Earl Vincent Kent, S.S.J., will be offered May 28 at St. Francis Xavier, Baltimore. Brother Earl, who chronicled Josephite life through his photography and served as an associate at St. Francis Xavier and St. Veronica, Cherry Hill, died May 22 following a long illness at St. Joseph Manor, where he had resided since 1991. He was 78.
