Several high schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore have added major new campus facilities.

Having touched our lives with the joy of the Gospel, Jesus invites us, as he invited the apostles, to join him in his missionary journeys. The Institute of Notre Dame followed seniors Ja’Lyn Armstrong and Madison Dubose to their fifth straight win over Mercy High as more than 3,000 watched the 52nd annual rendition of their basketball showcase event.

Our deeds of service may indeed open the hearts of others to Christ and the Church and surely we should aim to do just that in all our charities. Yet, there is something deeper – when we’re giving coats to inner-city kids, we’re offering them also the love, affection, and respect of Jesus for the little ones.

The 19 Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore continue to be more affordable than all but a handful of their private peers, as evidenced by the Catholic Review’s annual survey of cost of attendance among 41 nonpublic high schools in the archdiocese.

Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore had plenty to celebrate during Catholic Schools Week, including winning artists, coaches and teams.

As baptized members of the Church we are called to brighten it with our holiness. As members of the Knights of Columbus family, we united in brightening the Church with the holiness of charity on a massive scale and assist the Church in its world-wide mission of being that lampstand upon which and from which the light of Christ is to shine.

Last weekend when I made chocolate chip cookies, I made a big double batch and ended up with way too many.
