A Hope-Filled Future Takes Root at St. Agnes Parish

For nearly 175 years, St. Agnes Parish in Catonsville has sheltered the faithful and created a place where families, children, seniors, and newcomers alike have found community, belonging, and the presence of Christ. Today, that legacy of sacrifice, stewardship, and hope continues as parishioners invest in the future of St. Agnes through the It Is Good That We Are Here capital campaign.

Their effort is already bearing fruit. To date, parishioners and friends of St. Agnes have committed more than $500,000 in pledges, unlocking an additional $400,000 in matching funds that will be realized as those pledges are fulfilled. For a small, family-sized parish, these commitments represent far more than dollars raised. They are a powerful expression of gratitude for the generations who built St. Agnes and a shared commitment to the generations who will follow.

As Fr. Hamilton Okeke wrote to the parish, “For 175 years, faithful parishioners have built and sustained this community through their generosity and dedication. Now it is our turn to continue that legacy. Together, we can strengthen our parish, deepen our community, and ensure that St. Agnes remains a vibrant spiritual home for generations to come.”

In many ways, the success of the campaign reflects the very story of St. Agnes: one generation caring for the next. Through faith, sacrifice, and generosity, parishioners are helping write the next chapter of that story so that generations to come may say, “It is good that we are here.”
