Sister Rosemary (Gianetta) Nevy, O.S.U., dies

A funeral Mass for Ursuline Sister Rosemary (Gianetta) Nevy was offered Dec. 19 in Louisville, Ky. Sister Rosemary, 83, died Dec. 16 in Louisville.
A native of Cumberland, she attended the former St. Mary High School there, and joined the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville in 1950. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the former Ursuline College in Louisville, and a master’s from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. She served as a general councilor on leadership for the Ursuline Sisters, 1972-1980, and taught at Cumberland’s St. John Neumann School, 1993-1999. She also taught in Indiana, Kentucky and Nebraska.
From 2000 to 2005, Sister Rosemary volunteered as a library attendant at the Ursuline Motherhouse and at the former Marian Home in Louisville.
