Archbishop Lori’s Homily: Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Today the Church celebrates the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the heart of our Mother, a heart pierced by the sword of sorrow at the suffering of her Son, the heart in which she pondered all the things that God had done and would do through her, the heart of a mother and the heart of a woman. We do well to remember today the importance of that heart in our life.

Archbishop Lori’s Homily: Our Lady of Pompeii 100th Anniversary

Today, as we look to the future, we ask God for the grace we need to be his messengers in our city today, here and now.

Trinity Sunday

Trinity Sunday is not about “breaking the code”,  a vain attempt make the mystery of God less mysterious or “un-mysterious”. No, it’s about allowing ourselves to be “all lost in wonder” as our eyes of faith behold something of God grandeur and glory, as we experience something of his love, as we allow the love that reigns supreme in the Trinity to reign supreme in us.

Archbishop Lori’s Message on Seek the City Final Plan

For the past two years, the Church here in the City of Baltimore has been actively engaged in the Seek the City to Come initiative. Over these two years, our process has engaged almost 6,000 people in prayerful listening, visioning, and discernment. And now, having carefully considered all that we have seen and heard, including the considerable feedback we have received in the past several weeks, I write to share with you the final outcomes of this process.
