Instructions for applying for faculties in the Archdiocese of Baltimore
In order for our office to be in compliance with the policies of the Archdiocese and the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, Conference of Major Superiors of Men, Leadership Conference of Women Religious, and Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious, there are a few items that need to be completed:
• Complete our on-line VIRTUS Training (Register with the site and follow the prompts.) Please register under (LOCATION) “Catholic Center – Office of the Archbishop.” It is very important to register under the Office of Archbishop. If you do not register the location as “Catholic Center – Office of the Archbishop you will not be asked all of the correct questions. Once you have completed the VIRTUS training, please contact Betty McHugh at 410-547-5550 or Betty.McHugh@archbalt.org to have the Protecting God’s Children for Adults and Sexual Harassment certificates printed.
• You will need to be fingerprinted. Please take the LIVESCAN Pre-registration Application fill out the top portion and take it with you to the LIVESCAN sites. Here are a list of recommended LIVESCAN sites where you can have your fingerprints taken. (*Note: Please be aware that the LIVESCAN sites will charge you for their service.) Please submit your receipt for the fingerprinting to the Office of Clergy Personnel to be reimbursed. Please print the FBI(CJIS) Privacy Rights Notification form for your records.
• Please have your Superior or Ordinary fill out the Testimonial Suitability form and mail it to the address below.
• Fill out the Information form and mail it to the address along with a copy of either your Driver’s License or Passport.
Once you have been fingerprinted and our office has received the Virtus training verification, Information form, Testimonial Suitability Form and a copy of either your Driver License, or Passport, we will request faculties for you. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
