Welcome to the Archdiocese of Baltimore
God calls the Catholics of the Archdiocese of Baltimore to be a welcoming, worshipping community of faith, hope, and love. Through his Spirit, the Lord Jesus lives in those who believe, and reaches into our world with his saving message and healing love.
Housed in an ornate 300-pound reliquary, the objects have journeyed from St. Thérèse’s native France as part of a pilgrimage marking both the 100th anniversary of her canonization and the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year.
Catholics in the Archdiocese of Baltimore will again have the opportunity to pray in the presence of St. Thérèse’s relics – some of the bones of the beloved saint – when they return to the Carmelite Monastery Nov. 25-26.

236 years ago, the Archdiocese of Baltimore was established as the first Roman Catholic diocese in the United States. It became an archdiocese in 1808 and was the first (and for a time, the only) one in the country, with John Carroll appointed as the first Catholic bishop in the United States.
Students and faculty at St. Louis School in Clarksville burst into the school gym in waves Nov. 5, wearing blue spirit T-shirts, sunglasses and wielding pom-poms to celebrate the Howard County Catholic school's designation as one of Maryland's Blue Ribbon schools.
