Student exemplifies standards in Catholic education

Many thanks to Archbishop Edwin F. O’Brien for his vision, dedication and commitment to Catholic education in using the valuable human resources of the Baltimore community (clergy, religious, teachers, business leaders, creative thinkers and others) to design and implement a strategic plan for the preservation and forward-moving growth and development of our Catholic schools (CR, Jan. 22). In the same issue was a letter from a 17-year-old senior at Mount De Sales Academy titled “Don’t revere this president,” which exhibited a high level of moral development and critical thinking skills – all of which indicate the impact that a quality Catholic education has upon its students. Let us support our archbishop and those who will lead this strategic plan with our prayers, good works and whatever else we may be called forth to contribute to the success of this serious challenge.
