Speakers set for young adult series at Greene Turtle

The Greene Turtle in Fells Point will host a series of free Tuesday evening talks for young adults as part of the “Tap into your Faith” program. Each evening will begin with a social at 7 p.m., followed by a talk on a Catholic topic from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. and a social from 8:15 to 9 p.m. The evenings are geared to young adults aged 21-40, but older age groups are welcome.

The speakers are:

Nov. 9 – Nancy Paltell, associate director for respect life with the Maryland Catholic Conference, will discuss why the Catholic Church opposes embryonic stem cell research. She will also address the benefits of adult stem cell research.

Nov. 16 – Monsignor James Farmer, pastor of St. Ursula in Parkville and St. John in Westmister, will speak on the importance of being thankful to God.

Nov. 30 – Vicki & Syl Schieber, whose daughter was raped and murdered, will talk about forgiveness and their campaign against the death penalty.
