What is a Jubilee Year?

  • A Holy Year, a time for us to deepen and repair our relationship with God.
  • Origins in the Bible, initially to be marked every 50 years. Since Pope Boniface VIII called the first Jubilee in 1300, the frequency of Jubilee years has changed.
  • Characteristics of Jubilee Years include: pilgrimages, the Holy Door, plenary indulgences, and more!
