Irvington church given OCP grant

In the latest round of the Oregon Catholic Press (OCP) Parish Grants awards, 44 parishes throughout the United States – including St. Joseph’s Passionist Monastery Church, Irvington – received a total of $114,000 in assistance.

Since the inception of the program in 2001, nearly 400 churches in total have been awarded more than $800,000.

“We’re a not-for-profit, but we are a successful company, thanks in large part to the support we’ve received from churches,” said John Limb, publisher. “Being in a position to give back to the communities that have helped us spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a tremendous blessing.”

Applications for 2009 grants can be submitted between April 30 and June 30 at www.ocp.org/grants. All U.S. Catholic parishes are eligible to apply, even if they don’t currently use an OCP worship program. The purpose of the grant must be linked to liturgy and/or music.
