Funeral arrangements set for Archbishop Borders

A Mass of Christian Burial for Archbishop William Donald Borders will be held at 1 p.m. April 23 at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Homeland.

Archbishop Borders, the 13th Archbishop of Baltimore, died April 19 at Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium. He was 96, and had colon cancer.

All funeral ceremonies will take place at the cathedral. Archbishop Border’s body will be received at 10 a.m. April 22. Public visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. April 22, with the Office for The Dead to be held at 7:30 p.m.

Public visitation will continue April 23, from 9 a.m.-noon. Following the funeral Mass, there will be a private entombment in the cathedral crypt.

The cathedral is located at 5200 N. Charles St.
