The Franciscan Friars Conventual, Archbishop Curley High School, and the Archdiocese of Baltimore have learned that allegations of inappropriate conduct with a minor have led to the arrest of Fr. Michael Miller, OFM Conv., in Berlin, Connecticut, the place of his current assignment and the alleged misconduct. The Provincial of the Franciscan Friars Conventual has suspended Fr. Miller from all public ministry. The Friars have been contacted by the civil authorities in Connecticut and are cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
Fr. Miller was a faculty member at Archbishop Curley High School during the 1994 and 1995 school years, and again from 2003-2006. Father Miller also celebrated Masses occasionally on weekends at St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Carney and St. Margaret’s in Bel Air during the years, 2003-2006. The Franciscan Friars, Archbishop Curley High School, and the Archdiocese of Baltimore are unaware of any allegations of misconduct against Fr. Miller during his time in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Fr. Miller was ordained as a member of the Franciscan Friars in 2000. He had been assistant pastor at St. Paul parish in Kensington, Connecticut since 2006. He was a faculty member at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, New York in 1993 and again from 2000 to 2003.
The Franciscan Friars, Archbishop Curley High School, and the Archdiocese of Baltimore are committed to protecting children and helping to heal victims of abuse.
