Almost all events submitted – if they are sponsored by a Catholic parish, school or other organization in the Archdiocese of Baltimore – will be featured in the online calendar.

A human monitor will approve submissions for posting.

Events submitted by the first of the month prior to the month of the event may be considered for the print edition of Catholic Review magazine (e.g., by Jan. 1 for publication in the February magazine). So that all entities in the archdiocese have a fair opportunity to be listed in the limited space in the print publication, entities will be limited to no more than two in each calendar month print edition. If more than two have been submitted, Catholic Review Media staff will decide which items to publish, at their discretion.

Baltimore Ignatian Volunteer Corps Celebration of Gratitude

Baltimore IVC Celebration of Gratitude — Sunday, November 1, 2026

The Baltimore region of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps invites you to our Fall 2026 Celebration of Gratitude, on Sunday, November 1, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Hall, the Oblate Sisters of Providence Retreat and Conference Center, 701 Gun Road, Baltimore. This year we honor the Oblate Sisters of Providence and the Loaves and Fishes Ministry of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Community with the Madonna della Strada Award, given for lives that reflect the Ignatian call to serve those on the margins and to work for a more just society. Fr. Joseph Muth, chaplain at Notre Dame of Maryland, receives the Ed Sommerfeldt Award, named for the IVC Baltimore Corps Member who helped others recognize God at work in ordinary life. Mary Ann Burke, an IVC Baltimore Service Corps Member, receives our Lifetime Service Award. Tom Hall of WYPR serves as master of ceremonies. Tickets are $75 and include wine and hors d’oeuvres.

The Celebration is IVC Baltimore’s only fundraising event of the year, and it sustains work that has continued here for thirty-one years. IVC connects adults over fifty with organizations serving at-risk youth, food-insecure families, migrants and refugees, people experiencing homelessness, and adults with developmental disabilities — twenty-six Service Corps Members now serve seventeen nonprofit partners across the region, bringing a career’s worth of skill and a lifetime of faith to the work. You can support the evening as a sponsor at three levels: the Ignatian Circle of Gratitude at $2,500, Companions of Gratitude at $1,000, and Magis in Action at $500, each including tickets and recognition in the event program. We also welcome in-kind underwriting for printing, the wine bar, décor, and audio/visual; gifts of any size through our Solidarity Circle, listed or anonymous; and sponsored tickets for members of religious congregations. To attend or support, visit ivcusa.org/baltimore or contact Baltimore Regional Director Raven A. Wilkins, Sr., at rwilkins@ivcusa.org or 443-909-3107.
