Dockery to present dramatic reading of Jesuit priest’s poems

Baltimore actor Seamus Dockery will present a dramatic reading of the Marian- and Christ-centered poetry of Jesuit priest Gerard Manley Hopkins May 3 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the Marian month of May and the reopening of the Chapel of Grace at St. Ignatius.

The event will be held at St. Ignatius, located at 740 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore. A 5 p.m. reception will follow in Ignatian hall. All are welcome at no charge.

Poems to be read include: “God’s Grandeur,” “The Starlight Night,” “Spring” and “The Windhover,” among many others.

Mr. Dockery is an emeritus associate professor of the Loyola College in Maryland fine arts department. He has acted in more than 20 productions on Baltimore stages.
