Colts legend spotlights donation

St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore and the Saint Agnes Foundation recently came together with Pro Football Hall of Famer and legendary Baltimore Colts running back Lenny Moore and his family to recognize a $50,000 donation that was made to St. Agnes’ capital campaign in their honor.

The anonymous donation, made in honor of Lenny and Edith Moore, Leslie Moore and the Leslie Moore Scholarship Foundation, will fund two private rooms in the hospital’s patient tower, expected to be completed in late 2010.

During the April 20 event, attended by former Baltimore Colts teammates Art Donovan and Jim Mutscheller, the Moore family unveiled a Baltimore Colts jersey, helmet and football, all of which were autographed by Lenny Moore. The items will be permanently displayed at the hospital.

“It is an honor to be able to recognize the contributions that Lenny Moore and his family have made to the community and the significant role that Lenny Moore has had in shaping the sports history of Baltimore,” said Barbara Bozzuto, chair of the capital campaign. “We hope that others who come to St. Agnes will see the memorabilia and be inspired to make their own donation to the campaign.”
