Cardinal dedicates Ten Commandments Monument

On May 5, Cardinal William H. Keeler will dedicate a Ten Commandments monument at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Baltimore.

The 5-foot-tall, 850-pound-marble monument was placed at the east Baltimore church as a reminder to respect and appreciate what the Ten Commandments stand for and the values each person should strive to embody.

The money to purchase the monument from Project Moses – the national organization that has placed nearly 200 similar monuments throughout the United States since 2004 – came from donations from Our Lady of Fatima parishioner Charles Stanley and his family, the Knights of Columbus and parish organizations. Project Moses has constructed two Ten Commandments monuments in the state of Maryland.

The first was erected on the grounds of Sacred Heart of Mary, Graceland Park.
