Bless our priests

After reading George Matysek Jr.’s “Thank a priest – every day,” I was reminded of the daily prayers of the St. John Vianney Spiritual Motherhood Society here in our archdiocese.
This group of spiritual ladies, who meet monthly as a community, pray constantly for all the priests, deacons and seminarians. We pray for their spiritual needs. We pray that they always know that they are supported, appreciated and loved by the people they serve. And we pray that they continue to realize how invaluable they are to God’s people in saying Mass, administering the sacraments and proclaiming God’s word. As the work and demands of our priests grow, it is more important than ever for people to thank and pray for priests.
As I pray with my spiritual mothers, I ask, “How many times have you asked Father to pray for you or your special intention? Now, how many times have you prayed for Father?”
May God continue to bless our priests and sanctify their work.
