Catholic Charities dedicated its Senior Housing at Holy Korean Martyrs July 10.
The senior housing building – located at 5300 Lexington Rd. in Woodlawn – is currently 100 percent occupied and has 74 rent-assisted, one-bedroom apartments for older adults, said Harold A. Smith, Catholic Charities executive director, who hosted the dedication ceremony.
The property is accessible from the Beltway and I-70 and shopping, banking, medical care, recreation, and places of worship are all close by.
Marks, Thomas & Associates Inc. designed the building and Harkins Builders was the construction contractor.
Financial support for the project was provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, Baltimore County, and Maryland Affordable Housing Trust.
Senior Housing at Holy Korean Martyrs is the 18th Catholic Charities senior housing property. Catholic Charities’ other senior properties are located in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford and Garrett counties, including the 19th senior housing property which opened in Abingdon last April.
To be eligible for residency at Catholic Charities Holy Korean Martyrs at Woodlawn, applicants must be 62 or older and have an adjusted income of no more than 50 percent of the median income as determined by HUD.
