Sister Ruth Sampson, S.P.

A funeral Mass for Sister of Providence Ruth Sampson was offered June 11 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. Sister Ruth died June 5. She was 85.

A native of Massachusetts, Sister Ruth joined the congregation of the Sisters of Providence in 1947. She taught for 44 years in California, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington, D.C. She also served communities in Taiwan. In the Archdiocese of Baltimore, she taught at Ascension School in Halethorpe from 1964-1967.
