National Eucharistic Pilgrimage travels through Archdiocese of Baltimore
Journey tied to 250 years of American independence

(Baltimore, MD) – Along an East Coast journey, pilgrims will travel through the Archdiocese of Baltimore from June 9 to 11 to bring sacramental encounters with Christ through the Eucharist to a series of processions, public events and service projects.

The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will travel from Florida to Maine and then to Pennsylvania, completing the journey in Philadelphia over Independence Day weekend to honor the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Under the theme, “One Nation Under God,” the pilgrimage seeks to renew the Church by inviting Catholics to deepen their love of Jesus Christ.

Free events are planned in Annapolis, Baltimore, Boonsboro, Hagerstown and Severna Park, including Masses and processions. Along the stops, participants can tour America’s first Cathedral, attend a retreat dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and experience sunset adoration in Carroll Gardens, the birthplace of the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence. Pilgrims will depart the Archdiocese of Baltimore on June 11 by boat from Annapolis to Kent Island en route to the Diocese of Wilmington.

Archbishop William E. Lori welcomes the pilgrims to America’s first Catholic diocese.

“Anniversaries are not merely occasions for nostalgia or celebration. Authentic remembrance always orients us toward renewal,” Archbishop Lori said in his pastoral letter,In Charity & Truth: Toward a Renewed Political Culture. “At the heart of this witness is a truth the Church never ceases to proclaim: The human person finds his or her full meaning and dignity only in Jesus Christ.”

A full schedule of public events is available at Archbalt.org.

The 2026 pilgrimage is part of the National Eucharistic Revival. This year’s route is named in honor of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, the first American citizen to be canonized a saint. For information on the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage, visit EucharisticPilgrimage.org.
