Monsignor Jay F. O’Connor to become pastor of Our Lady of the Fields

Ending a yearlong sabbatical, Monsignor Jay F. O’Connor, 64, will become pastor of Our Lady of the Fields July 1.
He most recently served in the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Division of Clergy Personnel, first as associate director from 2002 to 2006, then as director from 2006 to 2012. Ordained in 1974, Monsignor O’Connor served as an associate pastor of St. Pius X in Rogers Forge for three years, St. Brigid in Canton for two years, and Sacred Heart in Glyndon for one year. 
He served as the archdiocesan vocations director for 10 years before serving three years as the executive director of the National Conference of Diocesan Vocational Directors. In 1994, Father O’Connor served as administrator of St. Clement Mary Hofbauer in Rosedale before being named pastor of St. Andrew by the Bay in Annapolis, where he served until 2002.
