Knights of Columbus host ‘Bella’ premiere

The Maryland State Council of the Knights of Columbus will sponsor a premiere of the movie “Bella” on Oct. 26 at the AMC Owings Mills 17.

The movie, which stars Eduardo Versategui and Tammy Blanchard, won the Toronto Film Festival People’s Choice Award.

“We’d like to sponsor getting this movie seen in Maryland,” said Brian O’Connor, state public relations chairman for the Knights of Columbus. “This movie is really powerful – it’s got a subtle pro-life message to it – it talks about a young woman who is single and unwed and goes through the whole gamut of what she’s thinking and feeling and what kind of support she has and what kind of support she doesn’t have and how she feels about that.”

Knights of Columbus councils statewide collected donations to sponsor the premiere, which cost $3,000.
