Maryland Catholic leaders and parishioners visited elected officials on Capitol Hill last week, along with Catholics from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
Michelle Zelaya, our associate director for social and economic concerns, arranged the meetings for the Maryland delegation to discuss just and compassionate immigration policies.
She said, “Our efforts focused on protecting religious liberty, safeguarding the religious workforce, supporting prison ministry services and advancing comprehensive immigration reform, which are all rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity and humane treatment.”
The Maryland groups met with Senator Chris Van Hollen and with staff for Senator Angela Alsobrooks and several Representatives.

POSTCARDS - Inviting Parishioners/Neighbors to your Easter Services or other events .
The AOB Communications Department is offering an effective way to reach out and invite those in your area to attend Mass at your parish this Easter Season. You could mail these to specific addresses or select certain zip codes/streets in your parish’s geographic area inviting that household to Mass or any other event at your church. Some examples/concepts are attached . These can be customized to your specific needs…adding an image of your church, changing language that you would prefer, and it can be translated into a different language and of course can include your Mass times or special events. We could also add a QR code that can drive folks to your website. Reach out to me (
ck@archbalt.org ) and we can get moving on this. We cover the design cost and the only $ involved would be printing cost and postage – but it is very reasonable. Let me know ASAP.
