Almost all events submitted – if they are sponsored by a Catholic parish, school or other organization in the Archdiocese of Baltimore – will be featured in the online calendar.
A human monitor will approve submissions for posting.
Events submitted by the first of the month prior to the month of the event may be considered for the print edition of Catholic Review magazine (e.g., by Jan. 1 for publication in the February magazine). So that all entities in the archdiocese have a fair opportunity to be listed in the limited space in the print publication, entities will be limited to no more than two in each calendar month print edition. If more than two have been submitted, Catholic Review Media staff will decide which items to publish, at their discretion.
A Mass for Our Beloved Dead
November 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EST
Event Navigation

On Sunday, November 8, St. Ignatius Catholic Community will celebrate a Mass for the Beloved Dead. This special liturgy will include guest musicians and prayer for deceased parishioners, family members, and friends. We will remember those who have died in two ways:
• The names of those who died between November 1, 2025 and November 2, 2026 will be displayed on a memorial board in the Narthex throughout November.
• The names of those who died before November 1, 2025 will be included in our Book of Remembrance, also kept in the Narthex throughout November.
An ensemble of vocalists, organ, strings and harp will present selections from the Requiem, Op. 9 of Maurice Duruflé. The Requiem was commissioned initially during WWII (1941) and finished in 1947. It reflects Duruflé’s deep immersion in plainsong traditions from his time as a choirboy at Rouen Cathedral and his study of Solesmes chant restoration. In his setting, Duruflé blended archaic Gregorian rhythms and modal lines with sophisticated early-modern French harmonies (in the lineage of Fauré, Debussy, and Ravel). Like Gabriel Fauré, Duruflé omitted the full Dies Irae, emphasizing serenity, forgiveness, and light rather than judgment.
Please join us at 10 AM at 744 N. Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.
