Teacher Workshops on Science and Religion

The University of Notre Dame’s McGrath Institute for Church Life will present “Teaching at the Intersection of Science and Religion,” with workshops on helping students to see the Catholic faith’s compatibility with science.
Catechists and teachers from Catholic high schools are invited to a unique day of professional development sponsored by the Archdiocese on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at St. Michael Church in Mt. Airy.
Stephen Barr, Ph.D., Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Delaware, is the keynote speaker, discussing “Modern Science and the Catholic Faith—The Myth of Conflict.” Break-out sessions will explore the topics of “Catholicism and Evolution” and “Ethics in Scientific Research.”
