What We Do

The Office of Divine Worship offers a wide range of services and programs

Help God's People to Worship Him

When we join in liturgy — whether at Mass or in praying the Liturgy of the Hours — we are actually participating in the heavenly liturgy led by Christ in Heaven. It is a transforming encounter with Jesus, which molds us as individuals into the one Body of Christ. In order for Catholics to be more fully a part of this worship, this Ministry helps the faithful to better understand what liturgy is and how the Church lives it.

Prepare Individuals to be Initiated in the Church

The seven sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life. Three of those sacraments — baptism, Eucharist, and confirmation — lay the foundations of every Christian life. Our ministry supports new Catholics in making these foundations strong.

Train Liturgical Ministers

Through the liturgy Christ continues his mission of redeeming us in, with, and through his Church. The Office of Worship and Sacraments trains liturgical ministers that they might more worthily participate in this great mystery.

Journey with Those Joining the Catholic Church

Becoming a Catholic is a process of conversion that takes place within a community. This Ministry journeys with and accompanies those who are joining the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
