Cherish contribution of religious women

School Sister of Notre Dame Mary Ann Hartnett wrote (CR, May 31) of the service of her order to the Cathedral School. I would like to add to that by calling attention to the service of many sisters and nuns in our archdiocese and their contributions to our society by unheralded services to the sick, poor, elderly, children, needy adults, immigrants and many more.

Formed by these women, people have gone on to positions of responsible service to our community both locally and nationally. The love they have shown for truth and good conscience helps us make wise decisions throughout our lives. We all treasure our spiritual mothers for the kindness and enlightenment that comes with their selfless dedication. Best of all, they use Jesus as their guide.
