Fellows program seeks applicants

Applications are being accepted until Nov. 7 for the 2008-2009 seventh class of the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Fellows Program, a leadership development program for nonprofit executive directors in Maryland. The sixth group of Weinberg Fellows will graduate in October 2008.

Bishop Malooly to be installed Sept. 8

Archbishop Pietro Sambi, Pope Benedict XVI’s representative to the United States, will install Bishop W. Francis Malooly, western vicar, as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Wilmington during a special Sept. 8 Mass at St. Elizabeth Church in Wilmington. The liturgy will begin at 2 p.m.

Peter’s Pence Collection will help sufferers worldwide

The annual Peter’s Pence collection, which enables Pope Benedict XVI to respond with emergency financial assistance to those in need throughout the world, will take place Sept. 6-7 in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The money helps those who suffer as a result of war, oppression and natural disasters, according to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Web site.
