Parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore Join Pope Francis in Celebrating Immaculate Heart of Mary Sunday, October 13

Archbishop William Lori, Archbishop of Baltimore, invited Catholics in the Archdiocese of Baltimore to offer special prayers and devotions to Mary on Sunday, October 13, the day Pope Francis will consecrate the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

The Holy Father’s prayer on Sunday will be part of a two-day celebration of Mary during the month of October, which is dedicated to the Rosary.

Archbishop Lori is inviting Catholic individuals and families to pray the Rosary on Sunday, and more regularly thereafter. A guide to praying the Rosary can be found on the website of the Archdiocese, www.archbalt.org. The Archbishop has also asked that the Memorare (a devotional prayer to Mary) be prayed at all Masses this Sunday and that Marian songs be incorporated into the liturgies.

Bishop Mitchell T. Rozanski, Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore, will celebrate the 8 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in the Towson area of Baltimore County. Following the Mass, he will place flowers at a statue of Mary outside the church. All are welcome to attend.
