Mrs. Marlatt
(Mount de Sales Academy)
Educator, Philanthropist, Role Model

Mrs. Marlatt teaches students the historical background of the Jewish Holocaust/Shoah (1933-1945) from the perspective of the individuals involved.  She brings in speakers who are Holocaust survivors to address the class, which gives the girls an in-depth and personal perspective of life in a concentration camp. These speakers inspire the students with their courage, perseverance and ability to forgive.  The class culminates with a powerful visit to the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.  In addition to teaching at Mt. de Sales, Mrs. Marlatt is the founder of the Colleen and Erin Marlatt Scholarship Fund, which has recognized teachers in the Archdiocese of Baltimore for 16 years; awarding them more than $500,000 in scholarships for their dependent children.  This is Mrs. Marlatt’s 19th year with Mount de Sales Academy.
