Medinger is respected as visionary leader

Readers of The Catholic Review were lucky to have Daniel Medinger as editor of the newspaper for nearly 25 years, “Amazing Run” (CR, Feb. 19). His first priority was always news from parishes and schools that would be of interest and value to readers.

Dan’s peers in the Catholic Press Association respected him as a visionary leader who wasn’t afraid to try something new or different. The 1998 decision to change the newspaper’s format from a broadsheet to a tabloid was the highlight of my seven years working at The Catholic Review. It was Dan’s vision and leadership to produce the best possible newspaper for readers that made working for The Catholic Review an honor.

I wish Dan and his wife, Patti, who dedicated 15 years of her own to The Cathedral Foundation, much success with Advertising Media Plus.

Mrs. Wiseman, the director of media relations at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, worked at The Catholic Review from 1995-2002.
