Promoting the Catholic Response to Domestic Violence Details

Dr Marylou YamDr. Mary Lou Yam, President of Notre Dame of Maryland University, has focused her research on domestic violence over the course of her clinical and academic career.  She has published numerous articles and book chapters on domestic violence, nursing research, and case management.  She will present an overview of domestic violence, related statistics and signs of abuse.

 

 

Deacon RoescherDeacon Stephen Roscher has served as a criminal prosecutor for 27 years.  He was formerly the Chief of the Family Violence Unit for the Baltimore County State’s Attorneys Office and has handled hundreds of felony and misdemeanor domestic violence cases. Mr. Roscher has been a presenter at numerous venues around the state of Maryland and nationally on domestic violence and the abuse of vulnerable adults.  He has been married for 37 years to his wife, Nancy.  They have three grown children and five grandchildren.  Ordained as a permanent deacon in 2011, he is assigned to St. Charles Church in Pikesville and also assists at Holy Family parish in Randallstown.
