Little Sisters of the Poor welcome new leadership

The Little Sisters of the Poor at St. Martin’s Home for the Aged, Catonsville, have welcomed new leadership both at the home and the provincial level. The home’s new mother superior, Sister Alice Marie Monica, L.S.P., arrived in Baltimore from the Little Sisters of the Poor Our Lady of Hope residence in Latham, N.Y. Her arrival was celebrated with a Mass and reception where residents and staff entertained guests with a ceremony and a play.

Sister Loraine Marie Clare, L.S.P., arrived at St. Martin’s Home to assume leadership of the Baltimore province, which includes 10 homes for the elderly poor in eastern and central states. She came from the Little Sisters of the Poor Holy Family Residence in St. Paul, Minn., and was also welcomed with a Mass.

The Little Sisters of the Poor congregation is an international group of religious women serving in more than 200 homes throughout the world.
