Festival of the Arts to provide evangelization tool

St. Bernardine, Baltimore, will use its April 13 Festival of the Arts event as both an evangelization tool and to help ring in the parish’s 80th anniversary.

The free 4 p.m. event at The Seton Keough High School, Baltimore, will feature performances by the parish and school choirs, drama group, dancers, displays of paintings, crafts and fashion designs by fellowship artists, said Father Edward M. Miller, pastor of St. Bernardine.

Parish ministries will also have display tables set up, to show the good work they do for the faithful and community, Father Miller said.

“We want to celebrate the many ways that God has enriched us through artistic gifts,” he said. “It is also a key opportunity for our school family to join us in celebrating what God has done. Over half of those families are unchurched, so God is challenging us to invite them to a church which has an active faith and worship life.”

The parish will hold its official 80th anniversary Masses during the June 21-22 weekend.
