SUMMARY:Pilgrimages to St. Francis Church in the Holy Year of St. Francis of Assisi
DESCRIPTION:Pope Leo proclaimed 2026 as a special Holy Year for the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi’s death. St. Francis of Assisi church is a pilgrimage site where visitors can learn about St. Francis and seek a plenary indulgence to receive mercy for themselves or a deceased a loved one. Visits include tours of the newly renovated church\, the largest nativity display in Maryland\, and outdoor prayer gardens. Ideal for parish staffs\, schools\, and church groups. \nPilgrimages run October 11\, 2026 to December 31\, 2026 on the following days:\n– Sundays following 11 a.m. Mass (except Oct 4\, Nov 1\, and Dec 6)\n– Fridays following 9 a.m. daily Mass (except Nov 27 and Dec 25).\n– By appointment for parishes\, organizations\, or private groups. Contact 410-792-0470 or office@instrumentofpeace.org. Put “Pilgrimage Tour Request” in the subject. \nTours run approximately 45-60 minutes. Dining and food options are available ½ mile from the church.
