SUMMARY:St. Peter’s Second Annual Faith & Food Fest: Live Catholic Music\, Veneration of St. Sharbel Makhlouf Relics\, Family Fun\, Food Trucks and More!
DESCRIPTION:St. Peter the Apostle Parish (Garrett County) is hosting its second annual Faith & Food Fest from 5-8 p.m.\, Friday\, July 24\, 2026\, at St. Peter at the Lake in McHenry\, MD – near Deep Creek Lake. Beginning at 5 p.m.\, the public will treat themselves to dinner and dessert from local food trucks on site. Free live music will be performed from 6-8 p.m.\, by Deacon Peter Henkels (lead singer of The Branches)\, Deacon Gabriel Schoone – both of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh\, and Joe Henkels\, Peter’s brother. Neil Krebs\, St. Peter’s music director will share the stage throughout the night. And\, new this year is Father Maximilian Mary Dean\, multi-instrumentalist and winner of the “Best Marian Song” at the 2025 Catholic Music Awards.  \nThis year’s Faith & Food Fest is part of St. Peter’s year-long celebration of its 175th anniversary and coincides with the Feast Day of St. Sharbel Makhlouf. Time for independent prayer and veneration with St. Sharbel’s relics present will be offered from 5-6 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. Free admission and parking on site; parking for group buses may be arranged by calling the parish office at 301-334-2202\, Monday-Thursday. This family-friendly (including “Fido”) event will be held rain or shine. Festival goers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. The open-air\, bring-your-own-chair concerts will star soprano Christine Lyons\, mezzo-soprano Kate Farrar\, and bass-baritone Harold Wilson\, accompanied by pianist Joy Schreier. The concert will run 45-50 minutes and will feature an array of operatic favorites from Puccini to Tchaikvosky\, to classic musical theater hits. \nTickets are sold as “pods” which accommodate up to four people that will be placed 6-ft apart from one another. Social distancing and other safety measures will be in full effect for artists\, audiences and staff for all live BCO concerts this season.
