SUMMARY:O'Dwyer Retreat Center - A Lenten Morning Retreat on Listening
DESCRIPTION:This Lent\, we invite ministers and all adults seeking spiritual renewal to a morning of prayer and reflection. In the busyness of ministry and daily life\, our hearts can easily become crowded\, leaving little room to truly hear God and the people around us. \nRooted in the Lenten message of Pope Leo XIV\, who reminds us that every authentic path of conversion begins with listening—to God\, to His Word\, and to one another—this retreat offers space to pause\, reconnect with the Lord\, and rediscover listening as the beginning of genuine love. \nThrough prayer\, guided reflection\, and shared silence\, we will reveal what might be preventing authentic listening\, so we can practice listening differently. Together\, we will examine the interior habits\, assumptions\, and reactions that hinder true encounter\, embracing fasting not only from food\, but from presumption\, quick answers\, and the need to control—so that we may truly hear\, respond\, and love more deeply in our families\, workplaces\, ministries\, and communities. \nCome and “fill your cup” so you may return to daily life renewed in spirit and attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

SUMMARY:The Donkey & the Divine: Reflecting on Lent through the Poetry of Mary Oliver - Day Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered about the donkey who carried Jesus on that triumphant\, palm-waving journey into Jerusalem? Was he merely a practical choice\, or does his quiet presence offer something more to consider during the Lenten season? Or perhaps you’ve pondered what the people on the hillside must have felt when a bounty of fish and bread was suddenly provided to take away their hunger pains. And what about the disciples who could not stay awake?! Oh\, what they must have felt like in the morning. Mary Oliver\, beloved poet and spiritual guide of the ordinary\, invites us into these sacred moments with her deep noticing and provocative wonderings. Her poetry opens our hearts to the small\, overlooked details and invites us to care more deeply\, to wonder more freely\, and to listen with greater attention. In this day-long retreat\, we will engage with selected poems by Mary Oliver in anticipation of Holy Week. Our rhythm for the day will include sacred reading and deep listening\, introductions to simple spiritual practices to accompany our personal reflections and responses\, and time to share with one another in sacred community. Come with your curiosity\, your longing for a spacious day\, and your desire to see with fresh eyes in this season. Let the poetry of Mary Oliver be a lantern as we walk with Jesus — and a humble donkey — on the road to Jerusalem. Lunch is included. Guided by Lorie Conway.

SUMMARY:Triduum Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Were You There: Following Jesus from the Upper Room to the Empty Tomb \nDuring the three days of the Triduum retreat\, we will follow Jesus’ journey of crucified love through imaginative\, prayerful reflections and liturgical celebrations. In the Upper Room\, he teaches us how to be a servant leader. In the Gethsemane Garden\, he guides us in the way of yielding to his Father’s desire\, “Thy will be done.” Through the streets of Jerusalem to Mount Calvary\, he shows us the blueprint of ‘no greater love’ as we observe the sufferings of a man crowned with thorns\, beaten and assaulted\, while carrying the cross of his own crucifixion. Throughout this retreat experience\, we will personally encounter Jesus in these events as we prayerfully enter the biblical narrative. Ultimately\, we will embrace a deeper level of comprehending the teaching that “No one shows greater love than when he lays down his life for his friends.” Our time together will culminate on Easter Sunday morning\, when everything is turned upside down in the unprecedented event of the resurrection. \nThis is a silent retreat. Silence is kept from after dinner on Thursday until after the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening. The retreat will begin on Thursday at 4:30pm and will end with lunch after Mass on Easter Sunday. Meals and lodging are included. Guided by Fr. Phil Cover and Sr. Carole Rybicki. \nA COMMUTER OPTION is also available. The commuter option costs $255 and includes everything except for lodging and breakfast. Call the Welcome Center at 410-442-3120 to register for the Triduum Retreat Commuter Option.

SUMMARY:Stations of the Cross & Soup Supper
DESCRIPTION:Stations of the Cross & Soup Supper \nFridays Throughout Lent\, 6 p.m. \nApril 3 \nWhat you’ll experience as we gather: \nThe Stations of the Cross (also known as the Way of the Cross or Via Dolorosa) serves as a “spiritual pilgrimage\,” where participants move from station to station to meditate on specific events of the Passion. At St. Ignatius the stations are sculptured engravings arranged at intervals around the walls of a church. Devotions will emphasize both the traditional language leading to Christ’s death and its sorrows easily found in our city of Baltimore where similar moments are played out today. Following the service will be the best Lenten meal in Baltimore\, prepared and served lovingly by parishioners. All are invited.
