SUMMARY:“Pray for Priests” Walking Pilgrimage
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, Aug. 1\, as we walk and pray for an outpouring of God’s love and strength into our Archdiocesan priests and seminarians in the midst of the Church’s novena to St. Jean-Marie Vianney\, patron of parish priests. We begin in short prayer\, usually pray the Rosary as we walk and then journey at our own pace in conversation or quietly the rest of the way. Please note: Our pace is three-miles-per-hour so we can arrive at St. John for 8:30a.m. Mass. It is an easy surface but a brisk pace. Meet us at St John’s parking lot at 4:15a.m. and get a ride or carpool to St. Mary’s Church in downtown Annapolis. The walk from St. Mary\, Annapolis to St. John\, is 9.4 miles. Contact Kathy Kirby at mrskirby1966@gmail.com for carpool information\, or to arrange to meet at St. Mary.

SUMMARY:Feast of Our Lady of the Angels and America 250 BBQ
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Sunday Mass honoring the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels\, patron of our Province. Friar Michael Heine\, OFM Conv.\, will celebrate Mass in the Shrine Chapel. \nThe Feast of Our Lady of the Angels honors the dedication of the Portiuncula\, a tiny stone chapel in Assisi\, Italy\, that is the spiritual birthplace of the Franciscan Order and the exact site where St. Francis of Assisi died. On this day\, pilgrims can receive the Assisi indulgence. St. Francis of Assisi secured this privilege in 1216. It allows the faithful to receive complete remission of temporal punishment due to sin\, under specific condition. \nFollowing Mass\, there will be a BBQ lunch served at Carrollton Hall\, during a special Open House in honor of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. While the Declaration was ratified on July 4\, the founding fathers\, including Charles Carroll of Carrollton\, did not sign the document until Aug. 2\, 2026. To RSVP for the Open House and BBQ lunch\, please click here. The event is free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:Archdiocese of Baltimore 4th Annual Gun Buyback
DESCRIPTION:The Archdiocese of Baltimore will host its fourth Gun Buyback and Peacebuilding Fair this August in Baltimore City. Through our partnership with the Baltimore Police Department\, 1\,056 unwanted firearms have been voluntarily surrendered and destroyed to date – weapons that can no longer be used in a robbery\, suicide\, domestic assault\, or accident. \nWe invite you to support this lifesaving effort. Your contribution directly helps reduce the number of unwanted guns in our communities while promoting peace and the dignity of the human person. Any funds raised beyond the needs of the buyback will support the Archdiocese’s Grief Ministry\, which serves families directly impacted by violence by assisting with burial costs\, providing groceries\, and helping to meet other critical needs. \nhttps://www.archbalt.org/archdiocese-of-baltimore-annual-gun-buyback/
