SUMMARY:Damascus Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Damascus Summer Camp is now in Maryland! \nToo many young people today are abandoning faith and desperate for hope. Like St. Paul on the road to Damascus\, they need an encounter with Jesus to transform them and invite them to become the next generation of missionary disciples. \nDamascus Summer Camp seeks to bring that hope to as many youth\, young adults and families as possible. Over the last 25 years a humble parish-based effort has grown from 63 campers and a handful of volunteers to a national movement where over 50\,000 participants each year are invited to live the adventure of the Catholic faith through world-class camps\, conferences\, retreats and events. \nThe camp runs June 7 – July 31 at the Summit Lake Camp location. Visit the website to learn more about volunteering and weeks for different age groups this year. \nLearn more and register today!

SUMMARY:Finding Hope That’s Been Lost
DESCRIPTION:Finding Hope That’s Been Lost \nA program that began during the Jubilee Year of Hope\, Franciscan Pilgrimages of Hope offer an opportunity to experience our Shrine and grounds in a new way. A pilgrimage is the act of leaving one’s home to travel to a holy place\, and whether your travels are five miles or 500 miles\, we hope you’ll join us for these days of learning\, prayer\, reflection\, and hope. \nEach of these pilgrimage experiences feature a themed tour of the Shrine of St. Anthony\, Mass\, and an afternoon activity on our grounds tied to the morning’s theme. While each event centers on hope\, the Franciscan ideals and saints highlighted will vary based on the event. Pilgrimage events are led by Ray Glennon\, OFS\, and include contributions from Shrine Director Friar Gary Johnson\, OFM Conv\, and other friars in residence. \nFinding Hope That’s Been Lost is a pilgrimage experiences focused directly on the life and ministry of St. Anthony of Padua. Around his Feast Day (June 13)\, we will have two opportunities to experience this Pilgrimage of Hope: Saturday\, June 6 and Tuesday\, June 9. \nPilgrimage tours begin at 9:30 a.m. in the courtyard of the Shrine\, followed by time for Adoration ahead of the 12 p.m. daily Mass in the Shrine chapel. Pilgrims are encouraged to bring a bag lunch to enjoy with other visitors ahead of the afternoon activity. Pilgrims should be aware that portions of the day will include walking to various outdoor landmarks. If inclement weather affects the safety of pilgrims\, events will move indoors. \nRegistration for pilgrimage events is encouraged. Click here to reserve your space. We cap attendance at 50 participants.\nIf you’re unable to attend one of the following times\, but would like to schedule a similar experience with a group\, please contact the Shrine Office at 410-531-2801.
