The first American-born saint, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, lived the last years of her life in Emmitsburg, Maryland, from 1809-1821. See the home where she first lived in 1809 on a livestream tour on the Shrine’s Facebook page. The Stone House was built in the late 1700s and was a primitive farmhouse when Elizabeth Ann first moved in. It was in this home where she founded the first congregation of sisters in the U.S. On the livestream tour, discover what life was like for Elizabeth Ann and her congregation of sisters, especially during their first bitterly cold winter.
