Life-Giving Wounds Pilgrimage to the Baltimore Basilica

Join Life-Giving Wounds staff and volunteers for a pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, aka the “Baltimore Basilica.” This year marks the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the Basilica, the oldest church of its kind in the country. To commemorate this occasion, a new perpetual adoration chapel has been started on the lower level. And, especially relevant to Life-Giving Wounds, one of the intentions at the chapel every Wednesday is for the healing of adult children of divorce!

The pilgrimage will take place on Sunday, September 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Here is the schedule:

• 10:30 – meet at the Basilica

• 10:45 – Sunday mass with Fr. James Boric (an alum of Life-Giving Wounds)

• 11:45 – lunch (either bring your own or grab lunch from a nearby cafe; we can eat outside on the Basilica grounds)

• 1:00 – tour of the Basilica by Ana Farias (another Life-Giving Wounds alum, and author of this beautiful piece about adoration on our blog) who will relate the art and architecture to themes of healing for ACOD

• 2:00 – holy hour in the new adoration chapel with a meditation
