Q: How will I know the status of my application?

A: You will receive a confirmation of receipt of your application.

If qualified, your application will remain in a “pending” status until your Credential fileis completed. The HR Recruiter will then contact you to discuss the next steps.

Q: Whom can I use as a reference?

A: Professional references are past or present supervisors who can attest to your relevant work experience, skills, and job performance.

Q: I don’t have a teaching degree. Are there other opportunities for me?

A: The Archdiocese of Baltimore employs individuals in a variety of positions. Please see our careers page for further details on these positions.

Q: Why do I have to be certified?

A: The Archdiocese employs certified teachers to ensure a standard of excellence in education.

Q. How do I become state certified?

A. Information regarding state certification is available from Maryland State Department of Education.

Q: When does the Archdiocese begin hiring?

A: The Archdiocese accepts applications year round; however, interviewing for education positions begins in April.

Q. How long will my application remain active with the Archdiocese of Baltimore?

A. Your application will remain active in our system for six months. You can easily update your application online to keep it active in our system.

Q: How do I get an interview?

A: Once your Credential file is complete it will be shared with Principals who have openings in your area of interest. If there is a match, the Principal will contact you for an interview.
