The Serra Club of Baltimore is an organization dedicated to the support of fostering vocations in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Members gather regularly to pray for men and women called to priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated religious life, and they also support vocations through promotional programs in the Archdiocese.
The Serra Club has generously supported the Archdiocese’s “Take the Journey” program, wherein high school juniors are invited to a day trip to one of the local seminaries or convents in order to learn about the formation that goes on in those places. To date, over two thousand young men and women have been able to visit St. Mary’s Seminary, Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, the Daughters of Charity motherhouse in Emmitsburg and the Little Sisters of the Poor – all thanks to the Serra Club’s generous support.
Members of the club are committed to prayer for men and women in religious formation, as well as spreading the word about vocations.
The Serra Club of Baltimore meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, from October through May. Membership is open to men and women, husbands and wives, single or married. The Vocations Director serves as Chaplain to the Club.
