Baltimore archdiocese ready for March for Life

The Archdiocese of Baltimore will be well represented at the Jan. 22 March for Life in Washington, D.C., with approximately 1,300 young people participating in the Youth Rally and Mass for Life at the Verizon Center and thousands of others marching in the annual event.
Participants from the Baltimore archdiocese will gather at 7th Street NW and the walking path on the National Mall just north of Jefferson Street at 11 a.m. and walk together to the National Mall. Red head warmers with the archdiocesan seal will be distributed to attending youth groups and parish organizations.

In connection with Respect Life events, Tony Melendez, a Catholic singer and guitarist born without arms, will be making two local appearances.
Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn will host a free 7 p.m. Melendez concert Jan. 21 at 7 p.m., and Church of the Immaculate Conception in Towson will host a free 7 p.m. Melendez concert Jan. 23.
Melendez is an internationally known prolife advocate who sang for St. John Paul II during the pope’s 1987 visit to Los Angeles.
