Assignments for clergy announced by Archbishop Lori

Archbishop William E. Lori announces the following clergy assignments:

Pastor
 
Reverend John Jicha
to Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Hagerstown, while continuing as Pastor of St. Augustine, Williamsport, and St. James, Boonsboro. Effective Feb. 1.

Father John Jicha, a 55-year-old Baltimore native, has served as pastor of St. Augustine and St. James since 2011.

Raised in St. Joseph Parish in Fullerton, Father Jicha attended its parish school and then The John Carroll School in Bel Air. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees, the latter in speech/language pathology, from what is now Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore.

He earned a master of divinity from St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1995.

He served as associate pastor of Church of the Nativity in Timonium, and St. Joseph, Cockeysville. He was administrator of St. Ignatius, Loyola, Ijamsville, and became its pastor in 2003.

Before going to Washington County, he also was an associate pastor of St. Jane Frances de Chantal, Pasadena, and of St. Charles Borromeo, Pikesville, and Sacred Heart, Glyndon.

Reverend Juan Vazquez-Rubio
from part-time Associate Pastor of St. Clare, Essex, and part-time hospital chaplain at Franklin Square Hospital to Associate Pastor of St. Augustine, Williamsport; St. James, Boonsboro, and St. Joseph, Hagerstown. Effective March 1.

Reverend Gonzalo Cadavid-Rivera
from studies at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana to Associate Pastor of Resurrection of Our Lord, Laurel, and St. John the Evangelist, Columbia, and Metropolitan Tribunal. Effective Feb. 1.
