Archbishop Edwin O’Brien, Apostolic Administrator of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, will dedicate the newly-renovated and expanded Stella Maris International Seafarers’ Center, located at 6 Dunmanway in Dundalk, on Saturday, October 15 at 11 a.m.

The Center, which provides an array of sacramental and welcoming services to seafarers passing through the Port of Baltimore, will expand its offerings to include WiFi computer access, new televisions, telephones and computers for usage by seafarers. The Center will also feature a new walled patio, lounge, clothing room and chapel.

Archbishop O’Brien will be joined by Mr. Peter Davio, State Deputy of the Maryland State Council Knights of Columbus and Rev. Dennis P. Diehl, Pastor, St. Francis of Assisi Parish, in Fulton, MD.

Msgr. John L. FitzGerald is the Executive Director and Chaplain of the Archdiocese’s Apostleship of the Sea ministry, which supports and administers the Center. Apostleship of the Sea is an international Catholic ministry that recruits Catholic lay men and women to volunteer as ship visitors and at the Center, and collects financial, clothing and other donations for the Center to give to seafarers.
