2014 Knott scholars announced

 

The Knott Scholarship Funds has announced the 21 winners of this year’s Knott Scholarship Competition. 

The scholarships, from by the Marion Burk Knott Scholarship Fund and the Marion I. and Henry J. Knott Scholarship Fund, have an estimated four-year tuition value of nearly $1 million, according to the scholarship fund.

Knott Scholarships has awarded funds to more than 1,300 scholars since its inception in 1981, according to the scholarship fund. This represents more than $10 million in tuition given to Baltimore-area Catholic schools.

The following students received four-year, full tuition elementary scholarships at their parish elementary schools for grades five through eight:

Lucille Anstett, School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Homeland;

Isabella Cerza, St. Mary’s Elementary School in Annapolis;

Gianna DeLucca, Our Lady of Grace School in Parkton;

Benjamin Harlow, Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Essex;

Kiera Papa, St. Joseph’s School in Cockeysville;

Veronica Schmidt, St. Casimir School in Canton;

and Stephen Snyder, St. Margaret School in Bel Air.

The following students have received four-year, full tuition secondary scholarships to Catholic high schools:

Rebekah Balick from home-school to Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville;

Christa Campbell from Our Lady of Grace School in Parkton to Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson;

Angela Estavillo from St. Joseph School in Fullerton to Notre Dame Prep;

Erin Kosloski from public school to Mount de Sales Academy;

Connor Maher from St. Joseph School in Cockeysville to Calvert Hall College High School in Towson;

Ethan McCarthy from St. Margaret School in Bel Air to Calvert Hall;

Cecile McGarvey from St. Louis School in Clarksville to Notre Dame Prep;

Rory Nilan from St. Louis School to Mount St. Joseph High School in Irvington;

Spencer Peltz from home-school to Calvert Hall;

Joseph Sokoloff from Resurrection-St. Paul School in Ellicott City to Calvert Hall;

Sarah Petrunyak from Sacred Heart School in Glyndon to Notre Dame Prep;

Celestina Tolosa from Columbia Academy to Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn;

and Elizabeth and Johanna Vonderhorst from St. Ursula School in Parkville to The Catholic High School of Baltimore.
